This page will grow as we receive questions from our customers. We want to be sure that we are meeting your needs so if you have a burning question that's had you going for a long time, ask it! If we don't know the answer, we'll try our best to find out. Then, we'll put the information up here so that others can benefit too. It's a win-win situation!
Here are a few tips to get us started. Please keep checking back to see any updates and don't forget to subscribe to our newsletter as there will be much more up-to-date details there.
Eyes:
The window to the soul - most women when asked will say that their eyes are their best features. So take advantage of these gorgeous orbs and make them really stand out with the proper application of eyeliner, mascara and shadow.
If you use liquid eyeliner, purchase a fine-point liner brush. This will provide a very fine line which is what you need so you don't look messy or smudged - heaven forbid!
Open wide! When applying either liquid or pencil eyeliner, keep your eyes open wide and keep your hand steady. Many women find that by keeping their thumb anchored to their cheekbone, you will be able to stop the shakes. Others have a good mirror and strong light set up on a table or benchtop and rest their elbows on the surface to help them make a straight, thin line which is what you want. Follow your eyelash line and remember, the object is a natural look - the 60's is dead!
Mascara should be applied after all colours have been applied so liner first, then shadow and last of all, mascara. Choose a colour that makes your eyes stand out and make sure you have a look at some of the newer mascaras with added sparkle for a night out on the town. Apply from the outside lashes in and if you always end up with dots of mascara on your cheek after applying colour to your bottom lashes, sweep sideways rather than trying to sweep down and then, use a fine brush to separate lashes and set them in the right direction again.
Lips:
Pencil, pencil, pencil! No matter the size or shape of your lips - from pencil thin to Angelina Jolie sumptuous - lining your lips is essential to maximise that beautiful pucker. Line carefully starting from the centre and if your lips are relatively thin, you may want to go slightly outside of your natural lip line to add a bit of fullness. After you have lined, fill with your favourite coordinating colour (the pencil should be slightly lighter then the lipstick or gloss) - a lip brush will help you here. If you want lipstick to last for an extra long time, blot with a tissue and then, reapply the colour.
Cheeks:
If you have high, prominent cheekbones, it will be relatively easy to find where to apply your cheek colour. If your cheekbones are not quite so easy to see, don't despair - you can create them! Using a soft, broad brush, apply colour just under the bone (it's there - just feel it with your fingers) and sweep up towards your temples. Make sure you tap the brush gently after putting the powder on to remove any excess. If you prefer, you can sweep across your forehead and down the plane of your nose as well to add some highlights - this is a great technique if using a bronzer or an all-over colour.
